The World Skills Competition provides the ultimate challenge for young skilled people to test themselves against demanding international standards.
The South African contingency plans to take competitors to compete in (3) skills categories. The competitors will be selected from the automotive trades that best fits the description of the skills category:

The Retail Motor Industry Organisation (RMI) will steer and work with the MerSETA and industry to find and prepare the top three candidates in each of the aforementioned categories to represent South Africa. However, trade participation will only be approved if the qualifying criteria are met- the qualifying criteria are set out below:
